If you are a designer and designing for the user in a different part of the world, then you have to consider the meaning of the colours in other culture. Some colours have a unique meaning in all culture. For example Gold. Gold is representing success and high quality in all culture. Another example is red. In India red is representing danger and Stop. But in China, the red colour of the packet symbolizes good luck. Red is strictly forbidden at funerals as it is a traditionally symbolic colour of happiness; however, as the names of the dead were previously written in red, it may be considered offensive to use red ink for Chinese names in contexts other than official seals.
For another example, in the US the white colour signifies purity and it is used at a wedding. But in India white is used for death and funerals.
